EL ALBARDON
Its name comes from a geographical feature in the area that creates a kind of island when flooded.
It is a livestock farm that has begun a transition toward conservation-oriented practices, focusing not only on the welfare of the animals (cattle) but also on restoring balance in the native grasslands to support the healthy development of bird populations.
This is an integrated approach to production and conservation, reflecting the owners’ strong environmental commitment.
The farm is part of the Protected Landscape of Laguna de Rocha, one of the most significant sites—nationally and internationally—for bird conservation and watching, particularly for migratory shorebirds.
