Integrating the community
Our lagoons are threatened by the impact of human activities beyond their specific watersheds. We work in primary schools, high schools and community centres in their areas of influence and sometimes well beyond them, delivering workshops and organising visits to the lagoons.
We host visits from schools and senior citizens so that they become acquainted with these wonderful ecosystems, and to educate on and disseminate the importance of their preservation.
We also work with the fishing communities of the lagoons, recognising their historic role, helping to create identity and a sense of belonging and responsibility towards the areas they inhabit and where they make their living.
